Shave Excision

A surgical procedure that removes skin lesions that are raised above the skin's surface.

A shave excision is a surgical procedure that removes skin lesions that are raised above the skin's surface.

It's often used to remove benign skin lesions, such as moles, warts, keratoses, and skin tags. During the procedure, a scalpel or blade is used to shave off the lesion, leaving a scrape that heals like a razor cut. The area may be cauterised to stop any bleeding, and the procedure may result in a small scar.
