A skin graft is a surgical procedure that involves removing a healthy layer of skin from one part of the body and attaching it to another area where skin is missing or damaged. The area from which the skin is taken is called the donor site, and the area where it's attached is called the grafted area. The amount of skin that's needed depends on the size of the area being covered.
