A procedure that removes tissue from the body using a scalpel, laser, or other cutting tool.

Surgical excision is a procedure that removes tissue from the body using a scalpel, laser, or other cutting tool. It's often used to remove lumps or other suspicious growths, along with some of the normal tissue around them.

This surrounding tissue, known as the margin, is removed to ensure that all cancer cells have been eliminated.

Used for conditions such as Dermatofobroma or papilloma (skin tags)
