Ear Lobe Repair

Repairing the damage caused by earrings

The hole for earrings can become enlarged over time or even split completely.  A split makes it impossible to wear your earring, and a large hole risks losing an earring or it becoming embedded in the earlobe itself.

The problem can be on just one side, or both. To repair the gap, we excise the hole (or split) completely and stitch up with a small zig-zag scar. This is a stronger repair than a straight scar. The procedure is under a local anaesthetic, and you return in a week for removal of the tiny stitches.

The downtime is minimal. You can’t wear earrings for at least 6 weeks until we can see you and re-pierce your new earlobes.
