Mole Screening and Skin Conditions

Promoting Early Detection

SCREENING FOR BETTER HEALTH

Early detection of skin cancer, such as melanoma, can help improve the chances of successful treatment and survival.

When melanoma is caught early, most patients can be cured by surgically removing the mole. The five-year survival rate for melanoma is 99% when detected early, but can drop to 27% if it spreads to other organs.

When we see a patient with a skin lesion, and they are not insured with BUPA, or cannot afford to self-fund, we are very happy to refer back to their GP with a request to refer on in the NHS when this is appropriate.
